Getting to the kennel from abroad :
Driving to Denmark from Germany, you can either :
- Take the ferry from Puttgarden to Rødby
- or drive from Hamburg up through Jutland, go east over the island Fyn and
a big bridge onto Sealand where I live.
Taking the ferry will cost you Euro 46 - and taking the bridge cost Euro 32.
If you take the ferry from Puttgarden to Rødby (the easiest route) you need to
follow the "E47" road towards Copenhagen. If you go up through Jutland, you need
to follow the "E20" road towards Odense and after that towards Copenhagen.
E47 and E20 joins about 25 km south of Copenhagen. From this place you need
to follow "E47" and "E55" north. When you get closer to Copenhagen, the signs
will say "E47" & "E55" and "Helsingør". Follow this route towards north.
The numbers on the exits on the "E47" will count downwards from about 30 where
the "E20" meets "E47" and you need to pay attention when you reach the exit with
the number "20". Right after you have passed this exit, you need to turn onto
the highway towards Hillerød where I live. The sign will say "Hillerød" and
route number "16".
Keep going north on this route "16" until it becomes a 3 lane highway instead of
a 4 lane highway. Then you need to take the 2nd. exit to right, the sign says "Helsingør"
& "Hillerød Ø" and route "6". There are 3 large windmills at your left where the
exit is. At the end of the exit turn left and go in the direction of "Roskilde",
this is route "6".
Keep going on the route "6" for 1,5 km and then turn left where the sign says "Nørre
Herlev", the road is called "Fuglebjergvej". After 400 meters turn right at the
first road called "Attemosevej", this is a very small road. Keep going down this
road until you get to a white farm with a red roof (1,5 km), then follow the
unmade road to left around the farm
(there is a "Blue Border" sign there). Follow the unmade road for 500 meters
until
it ends right at my front door.
